With over 18 years of industry experience, Elmi began her career at PETRONAS, where she gained hands-on exposure across various offshore fields both in Malaysia and internationally. Her journey later extended into joint venture companies and Malaysia Petroleum Management, where she developed deep expertise in upstream operations, process technology, business planning, HSE, greenhouse gas (GHG) management, decarbonization, and international operations.

She led the development of the Upstream Net Zero Carbon Emission Facilities Guiding Principles, aimed at decarbonizing key emission sources commonly found in upstream operations. Her work focuses on optimizing hydrocarbon value through strategic molecular management while advancing PETRONAS’ commitment to its net zero carbon emissions agenda.
